Scott
Salmond has been Manager of the Men’s National Team since
2003, prior to that, he was Manager of High Performance Programs
for Hockey Canada since September, 2001. He was primarily responsible
for managing the Men’s National Team, and oversees Canada’s
Men’s Under-17 and Under-18 programs.
As Manager of the Men’s National Team he captured gold medals
at the 2004 IIHF World Championship in the Czech Republic and in
2003 in Finland, and won both the Lotto and Spengler Cups in 2003.
Previous international experience includes: Team Leader with Canada’s
2002 and 2001 Sweden Games Team, Team Manager with Canada’s
National Under-18 Team, capturing a gold medal at the 2002 Eight
Nations World Cup in August 2002 and Team Manager with Canada’s
National Under-18 Team at the 2002 World Under-18 Hockey Championship
in April, 2002.
A native of Creston, BC, Scott played four years of Junior A hockey
in the BCHL, and two years at Mount Royal College in Calgary, AB
. He also worked for two years in Victoria, BC for the BC Amateur
Hockey Association prior to joining Hockey Canada. Scott and his
wife Darcee reside in Calgary with their son Brodan (5).
